Subscription and Refund Policy
Clear commercial rules for Lignique plans, renewals, Credits, cancellations, failed operations, billing corrections, and refunds.
Effective date: 5 August 2026 · Version: 1.2 · Owner: Jayadevan Premnath, sole proprietor carrying on business as Lignique Studios.
IMPORTANT NOTICE — The Free Trial requires no card and never converts automatically. Paid Subscriptions renew only after clear disclosure and affirmative consent. Cancellation stops future renewal; it does not by itself delete the Account or projects. Mandatory consumer rights always prevail.
Commercial terms at a glance
- Billing currency: United States dollars (USD), plus applicable taxes and compulsory charges disclosed before payment.
- All-features model: Generally available creative features are available across paid plans; plans mainly differ by included Credits, rollover cap, and capacity shown at checkout.
- Free Trial: 12 one-time Credits for 14 days, email verification required, no payment card, and no automatic conversion.
- Cancellation: Stops the next renewal. Paid access normally continues through the current paid term unless a refund, chargeback, suspension, or law requires otherwise.
- Refund principle: Duplicate, unauthorised, post-cancellation, unprovisioned, and legally refundable charges are corrected. Contractual goodwill refunds are limited to the windows and conditions below.
- Failed operation: Credits are restored from the auditable operation record; a qualifying system failure is not charged twice.
- Purchased top-ups: Top-up Credits may be purchased only while an eligible paid Subscription is active. Purchased Top-up Credits expire 12 calendar months after purchase, are consumed after Subscription Credits, and remain usable until their disclosed expiry date even if the Subscription is subsequently cancelled or expires. Cancellation does not accelerate their expiry or require re-subscription. Additional Top-up Credits cannot be purchased without an eligible active paid Subscription.
1. Scope and relationship to other terms
This Policy applies when Lignique Studios offers a paid Subscription, Credit allocation, top-up, renewal, cancellation, refund, or related commercial feature through https://lignique.com, https://app.lignique.com, or another Lignique interface that links to this Policy (together, the Platform). It forms part of the Lignique Studios Terms and Conditions.
A confirmed checkout or order may state transaction-specific terms for the selected plan, including its price, currency, taxes, Billing Period, renewal date, Credit allocation, disclosed capacity limits, or promotion. Those confirmed transaction-specific terms govern that purchase. This Policy governs Credit validity, rollover, expiry, order of use, cancellation, failed operations, and refunds unless the confirmed checkout gives the user a more favourable term. Mandatory consumer rights always prevail.
Paid availability may be limited to the countries shown at checkout. Merely accessing the Platform from a country does not mean Lignique offers paid Services there. Where Lignique affirmatively offers to a consumer in a jurisdiction, all non-waivable local rights apply.
The payment provider or merchant of record identified at checkout may process the transaction, issue receipts, collect tax, and administer refunds. Its procedures may apply, but they do not remove any right against Lignique Studios that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Definitions
- Account: The registered Lignique account associated with the purchase and Credit ledger.
- Applicable Law: A law, regulation, binding court order, or mandatory consumer-protection rule that applies to the transaction.
- Billing Period: The monthly or annual period for which Fees are charged.
- Credits: Non-cash digital usage units used to measure specified Platform operations. Credits are not currency, legal tender, a deposit, or redeemable for cash.
- Paid Credits: Subscription Credits and purchased Top-up Credits, excluding Free Trial, promotional, or goodwill Credits.
- Subscription Credits: Credits allocated under a monthly or annual Subscription. Annual-plan Credits are granted monthly, not as one annual lump sum.
- Top-up Credits: Additional Credits purchased by an eligible paid subscriber, recorded separately in the ledger, and valid for 12 calendar months from purchase unless a longer period is expressly confirmed at checkout.
- Successful Operation: An operation the Platform records as completed and for which the requested Output is made accessible to the Account. Artistic dissatisfaction alone is not a failed operation.
- Material Use: Completion of a chargeable generation or editing operation that consumes a Paid Credit attributable to the purchase for which a voluntary refund is requested.
- Payment Provider: The processor, reseller, or merchant of record identified at checkout.
3. Plan schedule
The following is the approved launch schedule. The live pricing page and checkout must show the current price, taxes, billing frequency, included Credits, rollover, renewal terms, cancellation method, material limits, and refund conditions before payment. If the live checkout lawfully offers different terms, the confirmed order governs that purchase.
| Plan | Price (USD) | Credit allocation | Rollover cap | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free Trial | $0 | 12 one-time Credits | None | 14 days; once per eligible verified user |
| Starter | $15 monthly or $150 annual | 60 per month | 120 | Annual Fee paid upfront; Credits granted monthly |
| Creator | $29 monthly or $290 annual | 150 per month | 300 | Annual Fee paid upfront; Credits granted monthly |
| Pro | $59 monthly or $590 annual | 360 per month | 720 | Annual Fee paid upfront; Credits granted monthly |
| Studio | $119 monthly or $1,190 annual | 800 per month | 1,600 | Annual Fee paid upfront; Credits granted monthly |
Generally available creative features are intended to be available across paid plans. A plan may have technical concurrency, rate, output, or capacity limits only if those limits are disclosed before purchase or are reasonably necessary for security and fair use. Lignique will not impose an undisclosed mandatory charge on a completed purchase.
3.1 Launch offer
When displayed at checkout, the first 100 eligible paying customers receive 20% off the first three monthly Subscription payments. The offer applies only to monthly plans, is non-transferable, has no cash value, and ends after the third discounted payment, cancellation, refund of the qualifying purchase, or the stated promotion end, whichever occurs first. Any refund is based on the discounted amount actually paid. The promotional-price expiry reminder provisions in Section 7 apply.
4. How Credits are quoted and charged
| Component | Cost | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | 1 Credit | Per requested Output |
| Standard | 3 Credits | Per requested Output |
| Final | 8 Credits | Per requested Output |
| Smart Assist | +1 Credit | Once per operation when available and enabled |
| Advanced Reference Mode | +2 Credits | Once per operation when four or more active reference authorities influence the operation |
An active reference authority is a Character Lock, Style Lock, valid Style Board, Background Lock, or Prop Lock that actually influences the operation. A valid 5-10 image Style Board counts as one Style authority, not as 5-10 authorities. An inactive, invalid, or merely displayed preset does not count.
For multiple Outputs, the quality base cost is multiplied by the number of requested Outputs. Smart Assist and Advanced Reference Mode surcharges are each applied once per operation, not once per Output.
NOTE — Example: Two Standard Outputs with Smart Assist and four active reference authorities cost (3 × 2) + 1 + 2 = 9 Credits. One Final Output without a surcharge costs 8 Credits.
Before confirmation of a chargeable generation or edit, the Platform will display or otherwise make available an authoritative Credit quote. The server-side ledger, not a client-side estimate, determines the debit. Cancelling before confirmation does not debit Credits.
5. Credit allocation, rollover, expiry, and order of use
5.1 Subscription Credits
- Monthly plans: The monthly allocation is granted after successful initial payment and each successful renewal.
- Annual plans: The annual Fee is paid at the start of the annual term; the selected plan's Credits are granted monthly throughout that prepaid term.
- Rollover: Unused Subscription Credits roll over while the Subscription remains active, up to twice the plan's monthly allocation shown in Section 3. Credits above the cap do not carry forward.
- End of term: Unused Subscription Credits remain usable through the paid term and expire when that term ends, unless a mandatory law or specific confirmed term requires different treatment.
5.2 Purchased Top-up Credits
| Top-up pack | Price (USD) |
|---|---|
| 25 Credits | $9 |
| 60 Credits | $19 |
| 140 Credits | $39 |
| 300 Credits | $79 |
Top-ups may be purchased only while an eligible paid Subscription is active. Purchased Top-up Credits remain usable until their disclosed expiry date even if the Subscription is subsequently cancelled or expires. Cancellation does not accelerate their expiry or require re-subscription. A user may not purchase additional Top-up Credits without an eligible active paid Subscription.
Top-up Credits may expire at the end of their disclosed validity period or be removed if they are refunded, reversed, granted in error, duplicated, obtained through fraud, connected to a successful chargeback of the corresponding Top-up purchase, or required to be removed by Applicable Law. If Lignique permanently discontinues all practical means of using unexpired purchased Top-up Credits, Lignique will provide a reasonable migration, replacement, validity extension, or refund of the unused purchased value, as appropriate and subject to Applicable Law.
5.3 Order and restrictions
- Subscription Credits are ordinarily consumed before Top-up Credits, unless a corrective ledger entry requires another order.
- Free Trial and promotional Credits are consumed according to the trial or promotion disclosure and ordinarily before Paid Credits.
- Credits may not be sold, transferred, gifted, redeemed for cash, used outside Lignique, or treated as a bank or payment balance.
- Debit, restoration, refund, expiry, and reversal entries retain source records so the same Credit is not restored or refunded twice.
6. Free Trial
- The Free Trial provides 12 one-time Credits for 14 days to an eligible user who verifies the Account email.
- During the Free Trial, eligible users may access all generally available creative features, subject to the available trial Credits and applicable safety, technical, beta, capacity, and fair-use restrictions.
- No card is required. The trial does not convert automatically and no charge is made merely because it ends.
- Only one trial is available per eligible user. Lignique may use proportionate anti-abuse checks and deny duplicated, automated, fraudulent, or circumvention-based trials.
- Unused trial Credits expire when the trial ends and have no cash or refund value.
7. Checkout, consent, renewal, and receipts
Before payment, checkout will clearly and conspicuously disclose the plan, total amount, taxes and compulsory charges, currency, billing frequency, automatic-renewal terms, included Credits, material limits, renewal date or method, cancellation route, and refund conditions. Consent to recurring billing requires an affirmative action and will not be inferred from a pre-ticked box, inactivity, or unrelated consent.
- Confirmation: A durable electronic confirmation or receipt will include the material plan and renewal terms and cancellation instructions.
- Proof of consent: Lignique will retain the renewal consent and accepted version of the terms for at least three years after the contract ends, or longer if legally required.
- Annual renewal notice: For annual plans, Lignique will send any reminder required by Applicable Law and intends to use approximately 30 days before renewal as its general standard. For a California consumer who accepts an automatic-renewal offer with an initial term of one year or longer, the pre-renewal notice will be sent at least 15 days and not more than 45 days before renewal. Lignique will also provide any required annual reminder identifying the Service, the frequency and amount of charges, and the means of cancellation.
- Recurring-charge reminder: A reminder will identify the Service, charge frequency and amount, next charge date where known, and a simple cancellation method when required.
- Promotional-price expiry reminder: For a promotional or discounted recurring price lasting more than 31 days, Lignique will send any legally required reminder before the promotional period expires. For California consumers, the reminder will be sent at least 3 days and not more than 21 days before expiry and will state the upcoming price, charging frequency, and direct cancellation method.
- Price or material change: Clear notice will be given before a material change takes effect. Any new price applies only after the notice and consent required by Applicable Law. For California consumers, a change to the Fee charged under an existing automatic-renewal or continuous-service arrangement will be notified at least 7 days and not more than 30 days before the change takes effect, together with cancellation information in a form the consumer can retain.
- EU/UK immediate performance: Where a statutory withdrawal right applies, checkout will separately capture any request for immediate performance and, for qualifying digital content, any express consent and acknowledgement needed before the right can be lost.
- Taxes and conversion: Taxes are shown before payment where calculable. A bank or card issuer may apply its own exchange rate or fee; this is not a Lignique charge.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel automatic renewal at any time through the Account billing page, the Payment Provider control, or by emailing Customer Care if an online control is temporarily unavailable. A Subscription purchased online will be cancellable online through a clear, easy-to-find link, button, or equivalent control that does not require a telephone call or unnecessary steps, subject to reasonable authentication. Cancellation stops future renewal; it does not ordinarily end the already-paid term immediately.
- Effective date: Cancellation stops the next renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid Billing Period.
- Continued access: Subscription benefits and unused Subscription Credits remain available through the end of the already-paid Billing Period unless a refund, chargeback, suspension, immediate termination, or Applicable Law requires otherwise. Subscription Credits expire when that paid term ends. Purchased Top-up Credits remain usable until their disclosed expiry date even after the Subscription becomes inactive, but additional Top-up Credits cannot be purchased without an eligible active paid Subscription. Access may still be restricted for security, fraud, abuse, payment reversal, chargeback, or legal reasons under the Terms.
- No cancellation fee: Lignique does not charge a cancellation fee.
- Account and projects: Cancellation alone does not delete the Account, local workspace, cloud-saved projects, or personal data. Use the separate account or privacy deletion process.
- Confirmation: Lignique or the Payment Provider will provide a durable cancellation confirmation.
9. Refund eligibility
9.1 Mandatory rights
Nothing in this Policy limits any refund, repair, repeat performance, price reduction, cancellation, chargeback, withdrawal, or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a mandatory rule is more favourable, that rule prevails.
9.2 Full refunds or billing corrections
After proportionate verification, Lignique will issue a full refund or correction for:
- Duplicate charge: The same transaction or Billing Period was charged more than once without authorisation.
- Unauthorised charge: The charge was not authorised by the Account holder or payment-method holder, subject to reasonable fraud and identity checks.
- Charge after effective cancellation: A renewal was charged after timely cancellation became effective, unless the user separately re-subscribed or reversed the cancellation.
- Unprovisioned purchase: Payment was captured but the purchased Subscription or top-up was not provisioned and Lignique cannot correct it within a reasonable time.
- Legally required refund: Applicable Law provides a non-waivable withdrawal, deficient-service, renewal, or other refund right.
9.3 Contractual goodwill refunds
| Purchase | Request window | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| First paid Subscription purchase | Within 7 calendar days | No Paid Credit from that purchase has been used and no prior goodwill refund was granted to the same person or payment method |
| Subscription renewal | Within 48 hours after the charge | No Credit granted by that renewal has been used and the request is not part of repeated refund abuse |
| Purchased top-up | Within 7 calendar days | None of the Top-up Credits has been used, transferred, restored, refunded, or otherwise consumed |
These windows are additional contractual goodwill and do not replace a longer mandatory right. Material Use occurs when a chargeable operation consumes a Paid Credit attributable to the relevant purchase. The Free Trial is provided so users can assess the core workflow before paying.
9.4 Ordinarily non-refundable amounts
Subject always to Section 9.1, the following are ordinarily not voluntarily refundable:
- A purchase after the applicable goodwill window.
- A Subscription, renewal, or top-up after Material Use attributable to that purchase.
- A partially used Billing Period, unused Subscription Credits at the end of the term, expired Top-up Credits after their disclosed 12-month validity, or a voluntary downgrade.
- Dissatisfaction arising only from the probabilistic, non-unique, stylistic, or creative nature of a completed AI Output where the Platform performed the quoted operation.
- Free Trial, promotional, or goodwill Credits.
- Loss caused solely by clearing local browser data, changing devices, using private browsing, or failing to export locally stored work, unless a proven Lignique defect creates a mandatory remedy.
- Suspension or termination for material breach, unlawful content, fraud, chargeback abuse, or circumvention, subject to a fair review of unused purchased value and mandatory rights.
9.5 EEA and UK withdrawal rights
If Lignique affirmatively offers a covered distance contract to an eligible EEA or UK consumer, the consumer may have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason. The following rules apply to the extent required by law:
- For a service begun during the withdrawal period at the consumer's express request, Lignique may charge only the lawful proportion for service supplied before withdrawal.
- The right is not automatically lost merely because any Credit was used.
- For qualifying digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the right may be lost only after supply begins with the consumer's prior express consent, acknowledgement of the loss, and required confirmation.
- If the required consent or confirmation was not obtained, Lignique will not rely on an early-loss exception.
- The UK renewal cooling-off regime will be applied to covered contracts from its legal commencement.
10. Failed, partial, or duplicated operations
Lignique uses an auditable quote and ledger so failures can be corrected by Credit restoration.
- No Output delivered: If an operation fails before any requested Output is accessible, all base Credits and operation-level surcharges debited for that operation are restored automatically or after verification.
- Partial multi-output delivery: Base Credits are restored for each undelivered Output. A once-per-operation surcharge remains if at least one usable Output was delivered, unless the Platform error made the delivered operation materially unusable.
- Duplicate debit or replay: A duplicate debit caused by a replay, idempotency failure, or ledger error is reversed when verified.
- Provider outage or timeout: Lignique first restores Credits. It retries only with the user's confirmation where a retry could cause another debit. A prolonged inability to provide the paid Service may qualify for a proportionate monetary refund.
- Completed but unwanted Output: A completed Output is not a failed operation merely because it is aesthetically disappointing, non-unique, or unsuitable for the user's intended publication. Lignique may award goodwill Credits but is not obliged to do so.
IMPORTANT — No double reversal: A Credit restoration, payment refund, chargeback, promotional replacement, or provider reversal is recorded by source. Lignique may correct the ledger so the same loss is not compensated twice.
11. Annual plans, upgrades, downgrades, and discontinuation
- Annual cancellation: Stops the next annual renewal. The prepaid term and monthly Credit grants continue until the scheduled end unless a refund or mandatory remedy ends the term earlier.
- No ordinary pro-rata refund: After an applicable refund or withdrawal window, cancellation does not ordinarily create a pro-rata refund for remaining months, except where law requires it or Lignique materially fails to provide the Service.
- Upgrade: May take effect immediately after payment of the disclosed prorated difference. The higher allocation and rollover cap apply as shown in the upgrade quote.
- Downgrade: Takes effect at the next renewal. The current plan remains available through the paid term; the new cap applies when the downgrade takes effect.
- Discontinuation: If Lignique discontinues a paid plan or permanently removes a material purchased function during a prepaid term without a reasonably equivalent replacement, it will provide continued access, an equivalent plan, or an appropriate proportionate refund.
12. Failed payments and recovery period
If a recurring payment fails, Lignique or the Payment Provider may retry it and notify you. Subject to provider timing and Applicable Law, Lignique intends to provide a five-day recovery period from the failed renewal during which the payment method can be updated.
- Access may continue in a limited or grace state, but a new Credit allocation is not final until payment succeeds.
- If payment succeeds, the Subscription and allocation are restored with an auditable ledger entry.
- If payment does not succeed by the end of the recovery period, the Subscription becomes inactive or expires, no new Subscription Credit allocation is granted, and any Subscription Credits expire according to the paid-term rules in Section 5.1. Unexpired purchased Top-up Credits remain usable until their disclosed expiry date without re-subscription. Additional Top-up Credits cannot be purchased while the Subscription is inactive. Lignique may still restrict access for security, fraud, abuse, payment reversal, chargeback, or legal reasons under the Terms.
- Lignique will not impose an undisclosed collection fee.
13. Payment Provider and merchant-of-record role
The Payment Provider identified before payment may be the merchant of record and contractual seller for payment, invoicing, tax, and statutory merchant obligations. It may act as an independent controller of payment information under its own privacy notice. Lignique remains responsible for its own Service, representations, Credit ledger, support, and obligations that cannot lawfully be delegated. If provider terms conflict with a mandatory consumer right, the mandatory right prevails.
14. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Contact Customer Care first where practical so an unauthorised, duplicate, incorrect, or failed charge can be investigated quickly. This request does not waive a statutory or payment-network chargeback right.
When a chargeback or dispute is opened, Lignique may restrict the affected paid Services while the dispute is reviewed and may provide relevant consent records, receipts, transaction data, Account identifiers, usage and Credit logs, cancellation records, and communications to the Payment Provider, card network, or issuing bank. Broader suspension is reserved for reasonably suspected fraud, repeated abuse, or material breach. If a chargeback and internal refund both succeed, Lignique may correct the duplicate reversal.
15. How to request cancellation, refund, or correction
- Cancel renewal through the Account or Payment Provider control where available. If unavailable, email Customer Care from the registered address.
- For a refund or correction, provide the registered email, order or transaction identifier, date and amount, plan or top-up, reason, relevant operation identifier, and supporting screenshot if available.
- Do not send a password, one-time code, full card number, security code, or bank-login credential.
- Lignique will acknowledge a billing request promptly, normally within 48 hours, and aims to decide a complete request within 7 business days. An Indian consumer grievance will be acknowledged within 48 hours and redressed within one month or any shorter mandatory period.
- An approved refund is sent to the original payment method unless law or the Payment Provider requires another route. Lignique normally initiates it within 5 business days; the bank or provider may require an additional 5-10 business days to post it.
A request may be refused if it is fraudulent, materially incomplete after a reasonable information request, outside all applicable windows, inconsistent with reliable ledger evidence, or excluded by this Policy and Applicable Law. The response will explain the principal reason and any available escalation.
16. Statutory consumer rights by region
16.1 India
Indian consumer law may require a refund or other remedy for a deficient service, unfair trade practice, unauthorised charge, misleading representation, or failure to provide what was purchased. Lignique will not use a no-refund clause to deny a non-waivable remedy. A pure change of mind does not automatically create a statutory refund where no law provides one, but Section 9.3 remains available.
16.2 United States
For online recurring Subscriptions, Lignique will clearly and conspicuously disclose material renewal terms before obtaining billing information, obtain express informed consent before charging, provide a retainable confirmation, and offer a simple mechanism to stop recurring charges. Where a user enrolled online, cancellation will also be available online through a direct and easy-to-use method. Required renewal reminders, annual reminders, consent records, and price-change notices will be provided. More favourable state rights apply.
16.3 EEA and United Kingdom
Section 9.5 applies if Lignique affirmatively offers a covered contract to an eligible consumer. Any additional conformity, repeat-performance, price-reduction, cancellation, or renewal cooling-off right will apply from its legal commencement. Access to a website from the region alone does not establish that Lignique targets or offers the Service there.
17. Changes to this Policy
Each version states its effective date and version number. A material change affecting existing price, renewal, Credit expiry, cancellation, or refund rights will be notified before it applies to an existing Subscription, unless an earlier change is legally required. A less favourable change will not be applied retroactively to a completed purchase without valid consent or lawful authority.

Appendix B — Model withdrawal request for eligible EEA or UK consumers
To withdraw from a covered contract, send an unambiguous statement to JayadevanPremnath@lignique.com before the applicable deadline. Include:
- Your name and registered email address.
- The plan, order number, purchase date, and amount.
- A statement that you wish to withdraw from the contract.
- The date of the request.
You do not have to use this model wording. Lignique may request proportionate verification before returning funds. Any lawful charge for service supplied at your express request during the withdrawal period will be explained and supported by the relevant usage record.
